I gained some insights throughout the Summer Bridge Program that will prepare me for my college experience. I was able to get familiar with the campus so that in the fall I won't be one of those students that are going to be having trouble finding their classes. I was also able to get a head start in making new friends that were both students and faculty staff. This program helped me out a lot because with the help of all the presentations, we were able to find out all the different opportunities that were available to us. The campus has a lot to give us, but some people just don't know where to look for it or if it even exists. For example the ASI and Clarke Buildings can offer us a lot, but these resources won't necessarily come to us, we need to go and inform ourselves in order to enhance our college experience.
Obstacles that I fear that I know I will face would be things such as work load and and the financial part of school. I'm going to be getting lots of work and the professors aren't going to be reminding me to do it because based on what I've heard, they don't care if you do it or not because they're getting payed anyways and you are loosing your money by not learning. I am going to try to use the professors office hours so I can get some help and when the grading period comes, the professor will remember that I was giving some effort by going to him/her. I now know that the writing center and the math lab exist, so I am not going to let that go to waste. The financial part is going to be pretty stressful if I don't find a way to pay for everything, but I know that there is tons of help out there, I just need to look for it. I know that my EOP counselors will help me find some ways to keep on track and I'll just start now by saving my money from work and not wasting it much on good stuff.

Blog 1: the one and only
Eyy there I'm new to this and i don't really know what I'm doing, but here it goes. Well first of all, I've lived in North County pretty much my whole life so I kinda know around. I went to San Marcos High School which was about 5 minutes from my house. My dad has been the biggest influence in my life because he has come a long way to reah to the spot where he is right now. he only went up to elementary school because he had to help around with family issues. All his life he has been working very hard and he tells me that I should take advantage of all the opportunities that are open for me that involve education so that I won't have to work my whole life with my hands(labor) and rather use my knowledge and wisdom. Characteristics that I like about myself is that I am very competetive in sports nd that whenever I don't do something right, that feeling hunts me and I practice or do whatever it takes to make myself better. Futhermore, I chose Cal State San Marcos because I didn't want to go far because I'm sort of a mama's boy and I just couldn't imagine being far away from them for long periods of time. I like to have a lot of fun and meet new interesting people from everywhere. I'm into rodeo stuff so now and then you'll see me limping or knockout from the weekend events. If you guys ever wanna go out for a ride just hit me up I can show you around. Also if the ladies wanna go out and ride horses just tell me no worries.
